It was an incredible windfall, and she didn't know why looking at the ruby made her feel so sad, like she'd forgotten something, something that had been precious to her."

Just a quick something I had to take out of my mind (at 4 AM lol). This is inspired by chapter 77 of the fanfiction Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. It is AWESOME and everyone should read it! The last chapter moved me, so I had to draw this! It's a pity I don't have a scaner or illustrator or anything...sigh. But yeah.

Nice! My only comment is that it might be more effective without the tears in her eyes - I remember reading once, and have remembered ever since, that the saddest parts of stories are often more effective when the character doesn't cry - if the character cries, it means the reader doesn't have to.
